Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is set to leave the Bernabeu at the end of the season, according to his son's club's president Manuel Alvarez.
Mourinho has long been linked with a move away from Madrid, with his relationship with some of the senior players, including Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos, on a knife's edge.
Chelsea and Paris Saint Germain are thought to be the frontrunners for the Portuguese's signature, with some reports suggesting the "Special One" had already agreed a deal to move back to Stamford Bridge, where he enjoyed so much success.
Alvarez, president of Canillas, which is owned by Mourinho's son, said the Real manager, at a coaches' meeting, said he would leave Real at the end of the season, while also hinting the destination could be Chelsea.
"Mourinho told us that next year he cannot talk to the coaches, it was impossible, because he will not be here," Alvarez told COPE Deportes.
"He said jokingly and seriously, so I do not know clearly what he meant.
"If Mourinho goes it will be a great loss for Spanish football. I hope (Real Madrid president) Florentino (Perez) can fix it for the sake of the club."
Afterwards, Mourinho, while looking at some of the pictures of his Chelsea days hanging on the wall, revealed his future destination. "I will be there next season," Mourinho said while pointing at a picture of an open top bus parade with Chelsea.
Mourinho famously fell out with Blues owner Roman Abramovich, which led to his firing in 2007. However, several reports have suggested that the Russian billionaire owner has made up with Mourinho over time, and is ready to offer the Portuguese a way back to the club.
The 50-year-old manager has made it quite clear he would love to return to the English Premier League, but there have also been suggestions that Mourinho's agent has held talks with PSG over a summer move.
If Mourinho were to make a move to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, it would certainly bring Chelsea right back into the title picture in the Premier League, after struggling to make an impact in the last couple of years.
However, a report in the Telegraph suggests that Chelsea are targeting Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini, after being put off by the demands of Jose Mourinho, which includes a £12 million ($18.3 million) annual salary and complete control of transfers.
According to the report, Chelsea executives held talks with Pellegrini's representatives last week, and a proposal is set to be made soon.
Some members of the Chelsea hierarchy still want Mourinho to take over, but the majority of the board believe Pellegrini is the right man, with the Mourinho to Chelsea rumors reportedly being fuelled by those in support of the former Blues boss returning to Stamford Bridge.
