Terrell Owens is trying to make his way back into the NFL and one place where he thinks that things could works out is with the Chicago Bears, as he could play with one of his former coaches.
According to David Kaplan of CSN Chicago, the free agent wideout is looking to get back into the game and he feels that one place that can fit is the Bears, as new head coach Marc Trestman was the quarterbacks coach/offensive coordinator for the 49ers when Owners was drafted.
Although Trestman left after that season when George Seifert retired, he worked well with Owens and after making 1,078 passes for 15,934 yards and 153 touchdowns, there is a chance that the Bears will give him a look event though he hasn't played since December 2010. Owens went through an ACL injury last time he was making a comeback and he also played for Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League last year. Owens had high praise for Trestman and said he could fit well with Brando Marshall and Jay Cutler.
"I played my first early years in San Francisco with [Bears head coach Marc Trestman] and shortly after that, he left to do some things," Owens said. "I haven't talked to Marc in a long while. I know he's gone on and done some things, now he's back in the NFL. So, I never really thought about it until myself and Napoleon [Harris] were talking about it earlier, but I would definitely welcome it if they would give it some serious consideration. To think about [Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall] on the other side and me on one side, that's really dangerous. I'm keeping myself in shape just for any opportunity that may come about."
