NFL Free Agent Rumors: Karlos Dansby Signs With Arizona Cardinals At Linebacker As Brian Urlacher Next With Oakland Raiders, Buffalo Bills or Houston Texans?

The Arizona Cardinals have decided to bring back Karlos Dansby for another go-around, taking one of the top players left on the market after the linebacker visited with a number of teams, including the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals.

According to NFL.com, Dansby signed to the Cardinals on Friday to a one-year deal and it will be his second go around with the team after he played six years in the desert after being drafted by the Cardinals. He played his last few seasons in Miami before being released. Dansby was one of the hotter names left on the market, but things cooled down after a while after he wanted to be a starter and some teams viewed him as too old.

One reason the Cardinals may have been down to sign Dansby is the fact that linebacker Daryl Washington will serve a four game suspension for violations of the league's substance abuse policy and he also was arrested on domestiv violence charges. Dansby had an excellent season with Miami last year while making 134 tackles and he is a reliable player and a veteran presence in the locker room. He has missed just eight games during his career and at age 31 he is still a solid player.

Dansby has been able to stay away from injuries for most of his career, playing in 14 games in every season in the NFL, including all of the 16 per season over four of the past five years. While with the Dolphins he missed just two games and he will be able to give the Cardinals some steady play at linebacker. He likely wasn't going to sign with the Bengals after they got James Harrison and other teams didn't see him as a starter.

Brian Urlacher could be the next name player to sign, as he is next at the linebacker position and a number of teams that looked at Dansby could be interested, including the Oakland Raiders, Buffalo Bills or Houston Texans.
