Tim Tebow Blackballed Rumors: Quarterback Scares NFL Teams Due To Media Frenzy? QB Fits With New England Patriots, Browns, Lions and Saints Despite Drama

Tim Tebow is a free agent and can sign with any team in the NFL, but so far the only offers have come from the Canadian and Lingerie leagues, while Jacksonville Jaguars fans have begged the president and the owner of the team to no avail, but that doesn't mean everyone thinks he is done, including former Buccaneers linebacker and Arena league owner Derrick Brooks. Tebow is also possibly being blackballed by teams, according to Yahoo's Michael Silver.

Brooks, who is an 11-time Pro Bowl selection, spoke to USA Today on Wednesday and spoke about Tebow, saying that he feels he has a future in the NFL as a quarterback and that if he is patient another team will take a chance on him. Brooks is a co-owner and the president of the Tampa Bay Storm in the Arena League, which is one of the football offers Tebow has received since being released by the Jets.

Brooks said he feels that Tebow has the skills to win in the league and that he also spoke with former Heisman winner and NFL quarterback Vinny Testaverde, who worked with Tebow on his mechanics and footwork in the offseason and gave him soldi reviews about his improvements. The reporter asked Brooks about the possibility of Tebow signing with coach Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots, which the linebacker said could be a possibility.

Signing Tebow comes with the media attention and headlines, but the Patriots could actually be a perfect place, since the coach that drafted Tebow is there in Josh McDaniels and Belichick could use him in ways that the Jets couldn't figure out last season. On top of that the hoopla about him starting wouldn't be a factor since Tom Brady is just a little bit established up there in Boston.

Brooks feels a connection to Tebow since he was also suggested to change positions coming out of college at Florida State, with scouts saying that he was more of a safety than a linebacker. During his 14 seasons he proved that to be wrong and he said Tebow could do that as well. Brooks also added that Tebow could be a success in the Arena League and that the organization would be open to him, although hos own team already has a starting quarterback in Adrian McPherson.

"I'm rooting for Tim because I totally understand what it's like to believe in your abilities - when people told me that I was an NFL strong safety, I believed in my heart of hearts I was a linebacker,'' said Brooks, who is eligible for the Hall of Fame in 2014. "And I want Tim to have that opportunity again to show people he can be an NFL quarterback.''
