Phil Jackson Talks Los Angeles Lakers Rumors, Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant Issues, Michael Jordan and Brooklyn Nets Coaching Return On The Daily Show

Phil Jackson is on the talk show circuit to discuss his new book entitled "Eleven Rings: The Soul of Success," and he hit 'The Daily Show With Jon Stewart' on Tuesday night to talk shop, dishing about the Los Angeles Lakers, Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant, his possible coaching return and his Brooklyn Nets job offer.

Jackson is one of the most successful coaches of all time and he spoke about a number of topics after Stewart prodded him, including about his possible return to the Lakers last year and the best player he ever saw and coached. Jackson is promoting the book co-written with Hugh Delehanty and it discusses his coaching philosophy as well as his work over the years with Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan. The nearly 350 page book goes over details of his coaching career, including his six titles with the Chicago Bulls and five with the Lakers.

In the book Jackson speaks about the comparisons with Bryant and Jordan and that both players were fantastic but different. He also spoke about the job offers he got, including from the Lakers and the Nets. Reports said that Jackson was offered the Nets job but decided to turn it down and mentioned that he wasn't so interested in getting back to coaching and that he also did not have any interest in the Los Angeles Clippers or New York Knicks jobs yet.

Jackson has said he would rather be in a front office role than coaching and he had an option in place with the new Seattle franchise if they moved from Sacramento. The spearhead of that Chris Hansen said that he could take any job in the franchise he wanted and Jackson said he did everything right except get the franchise to Seattle. Jackson is considered to be one of the best coaches of all time and he was close to coming back as the Lakers coach when the team fired Mike Brown, but instead they brought in Mike D'Antoni and the team made the playoffs as the seventh seed despite an injury to Bryant. The Lakers had a rough season with Dwight Howard and there is a chance that he won't re-sign in the offseason, but that is still over a month away before he can make a move.
