Liverpool Transfer News: Suarez Expresses Desire to Leave Reds in the Summer as Real Madrid Circle

Liverpool fans do not know whether to heave a sigh of relief or start worrying again as the Luis Suarez will-he-stay or won't-he-stay saga keeps rumbling on unabated.

Suarez first fuelled rumors of an exit from Liverpool in the summer by saying he had felt victimized by the English media, while admitting he would find turning down a move to Real Madrid extremely difficult.

However, the Liverpool forward's agent Pere Guardiola, the brother of soon-to-be Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola, shot down the suggestions saying his client was "happy" and had no intention of leaving Anfield anytime soon.

That seemed to have settled the Suarez issue at least for a while; however, there was to be another twist with Suarez, in a press conference ahead of Uruguay's friendly game against France in Montevideo on June 5, again casting doubts over his future.

"I do not know when I'm going and I do not know if I'm staying," Suarez told reporters.

"Obviously the club want me to stay, but I've talked to the coach (Brendan Rodgers) and he knows what I want.

"He was a player and my teammates understand that my situation is difficult.

"It's a good moment for a change of environment because of all I've been through in England, where I haven't been judged as a player but based on other things.

"I have only words of thanks to the club, the fans of Liverpool, but the treatment I received from the rest of England in recent weeks has been tough.

"It (Liverpool) is a spectacular club, but they are aware of the way that the press treats me."

The fact that Suarez thinks he needs a "change of environment" suggests he is indeed looking for a move away; but it remains to be seen what sort of impact Rodgers has on the 26-year-old after they hold further talks, which they surely will, once Suarez returns from international duty, which unfortunately is not for a while yet with Uruguay set to take part in the Confederations Cup.

Apart from Real Madrid, Bayern Munich have also been linked with a move. But with Robert Lewandowski looking increasingly likely to join the Champions League winners, it looks like Real might have a straight shot at landing the coveted forward.

Real president Florentino Perez admitted his interest in Suarez, but was not sure if a deal could be done or indeed if he would be a fit at the Spanish club.

"Suarez is a great player and I am sure all in the world would want him," Perez told Marca. "I like him and others too, but it does not always fit."

It will probably take a crazy bid for Liverpool to even consider selling Suarez, which would presumably bring into play Paris Saint Germain and Monaco.
