The life and career of Tim Tebow is a popular topic among NFL circles these days and his popularity has definitely outgrown his career potential and when that happens, expect to come up as a topic for host Glenn Beck on conservative radio, which is what happened to the quarterback this week.

According to The Washington Post, Beck and his co-host spoke on his radio show about the new house purchased by Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III and from there the conversation eventually turned to Tebow. Beck spoke about Tebow's current situation of being unemployed after being cut by the Jets and he mentioned that there is an issue now in the NFL with being a "good guy" and being "trouble" and that teams won't hire him because he is "religious." Beck went on to say that he probably couldn't be hired by ESPN and others because if the issues behind him and he also even offered him a job when his other options run out.

The conversation started when Beck spoke about the new house that Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III purchased in Northern Virginia for $2.5 million, claiming that for how big it is, the quarterback sure got a bargain. He mentioned how Griffin is in "control" and that the house is something with five rooms and four bathrooms and he also mentioned how it has a movie theater. Beck has not been historically known for his sports knowledge and he seemed flabbergasted by the fact that Griffin paid what he did for the house, saying Northern Virginia was like Manhattan and that the house might be on a toxic waste dump.

Tebow had a rough season with the Jets last year and rushed for just 102 yards and passed for 39 while scoring zero touchdowns. Tebow has received offers from the CFL and AFL and so far he has yet to catch on with another team since the Jets cut him loose. He proved he could win in the NFL while with the Broncos and he even took the team to the playoffs and won a playoff game against the Steelers, but according to Beck, his religious beliefs are holding him back.

Some of Beck's quotes:

"No, no. Politically. I mean there's a different kind of trouble now. You can be a good guy - look at Tebow. You can be a good guy, clean life, and be on the wrong side politically, and you're doomed.

"Hopefully when he no longer has a job and he's out of football, we'll have enough money to hire him at this network to do sports. (Co-hosts laugh). Seriously. Who else would hire him to do even sports? ESPN probably wouldn't hire him. Nobody's going to hire him, he's too controversial. And THINK of that. No one's going to hire him because he's religious? It's unbelievable."
