Hernan Crespo believes Jose Mourinho's return to Chelsea will help the Blues dominate the English Premier League, while Michael Ballack called it a "fantastic decision."
Mourinho was appointed Chelsea's new manager on Monday on a four-year contract and the Portuguese could not hide his joy at finally sealing a return to Stamford Bridge.
Crespo, who played under Mourinho during his first spell at Chelsea, has no doubts about the fact that the Portuguese will turn the Blues into a Premier League force of the highest order.
"Everybody in football wants to win but I have never seen anybody who wants to win with the same intensity of Jose," he told The Sun. "He doesn't care if he plays beautiful football, he doesn't care what the opposition say about him, he doesn't care what the media say about him.
"All he cares about is having trophies at the end of the season.
"I am sure that Chelsea will now dominate English football again."
With Sir Alex Ferguson calling it a day at Manchester United, the chances of competing for the Premier League title have opened up considerably, but Crespo believes even with Ferguson at the helm, Mourinho would have helped Chelsea dominate.
"I think even if Alex Ferguson had stayed at Manchester United then Chelsea would still dominate because Jose is so special," Crespo added.
"And with Ferguson gone I do not even see any competition for Jose. He is on another level."
Meanwhile, Ballack has also given his thumbs up over the move, and believes the decision to go back to Chelsea makes perfect sense for Mourinho.
"To have Jose Mourinho at Chelsea is a fantastic decision," he told Sky Sports. "He is a great character and a great coach. Even at his age he has had unbelievable success.
"To go back to a club like this, it is never a bad decision. Chelsea are a fantastic club -- they won the Champions League last year and this year the Europa League.
"The money will be right for him, the fans love him, he has a lot of English supporters, even if they don't support Chelsea.
"Altogether it is a great package for him."
