The Boston Bruins were champions just a couple years ago and the team is looking like it is ready to do it once again as they meet with the Pittsburgh Penguins for Game 3 of the eastern Conference Finals on Wednesday night at home.
The Bruins have been playing fantastic all playoffs and now they will get the chance to go up 3-0 on the number one seed in the conference after winning both game in Pittsburgh. Sidney Crosby was held in check all game by the Bruins and some of his costly turnovers ended up turning into goals and the Bruins dominated from the start, scoring four goals in the first to take a 4-1 lead into the first intermission. The Penguins got one goal from Brandon Sutter, but they couldn't get much offense going and they ended up scoring just that for the rest of the game.

The Bruins have been one of the most consistent teams in the playoffs, which is why they are in the position they are in and now they have the chance to dominate even more and put the Penguins in a place where they may not be able to comeback from that deficit. The Bruins got goals from five different players in the game, including two scores from Brad Marchand and the eighth goal of the playoffs for David Krejci, who has continued to play well all postseason and leads the team now with eight goals.
Nathan Horton added his seventh goal, while Patrice Bergeron and Johnny Boychuk got in on the action as well. The team added another two goals in the third period and now they have continued to play like they did in the previous series against the New York Rangers last round when they took a 3-0 series lead after starting off with a Game 1 victory in overtime. The Penguins ended up pulling goalie Tomas Vokoun after he made only nine saves and Tukka Rask came through once again for the Bruins, making 26 saves to get the victory.
Sidney Crosby is leading the Penguins in goals for the playoffs, but he will need to play much better after getting pushed around in Game 3, as will Evgeni Malkin, who is a former MVP and is leading the team in points, but so far the two have been quiet this series. Things could end up on Wednesday like they did for the Kings, as they were down 2-0 with game 3 on Tuesday night and they got the victory to get the series with the Blackhawks to 2-1. The Penguins are hoping for a similar result, but they set themselves up to be in a tough position, as they are on the road now and desperately need to win, which is something no team wants to have to do. The Penguins have shown that they can rally and after taking care of the Islanders and the Senators in the playoffs, the team will be ready with a good effort on Wednesday to give themselves a shot to stay alive in the series.
