Real Madrid are the latest candidates thought to be interested in signing wantaway Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney, while Dougie Freedman has backed Wilfried Zaha to be a great success at Old Trafford.
Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed Rooney had asked for a move away at the end of last season, which the then manager rejected.
The England international is expected to hold talks with David Moyes sometime next week, but it remains unlikely that the 27-year-old will change his mind over wanting to leave United in the summer.
Bookmaker have slashed the odds of Rooney moving to Real Madrid from 40/1 to 10/1, with Carlo Ancelotti, who is set to be appointed new manager, thought to be an admirer.
Rooney has also been linked with moves to Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Chelsea, and the United striker is thought to prefer a move to Stamford Bridge, where new manager Jose Mourinho recently expressed his admiration for the player.
However, any move for either Chelsea or Arsenal is doubtful with United unlikely to want to sell Rooney to a direct rival in the English Premier League.
That leaves the likes of Real Madrid and PSG with a better chance of landing the player and it remains to be seen how much interest Real actually have for the player, with the Spanish giants also thought to be keen on moves for Uruguayan pair Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani.
Meanwhile, former Crystal Palace manager Freedman believes Zaha will be a big hit at United.
Zaha is set to make his United debut this season, after the Premier League champions sent him back on loan to Palace last season, despite sealing his signing in the January transfer window.
Freedman gave Zaha his debut before leaving for Bolton, and the manager has high hopes for the 20-year-old.
"It took him eight games to establish himself in the Palace first team and eight to 10 games later he was the best player," he is quoted as saying by The Sun.
"I have no doubt he will take time to settle in but when he does he will show the talent that he has.
"I know his character and he won't be fazed, David Moyes will see that day-in and day-out."
