Aaron Hernandez accomplice Carlos Oritz cooperated with police, according to court documents, revealing a secret house that Hernandez had that turned up various pieces of evidence, according to a report from USA Today.
Hernandez is currently facing life in prison for the murder of Lloyd along with five other gun charges and there is a chance that he could be facing further punishment, as he is being investigated for his possible role in a double murder in Boston from last July. Reports from ABC and Fox Boston have brought up a possible connection between the murder of Lloyd and the double homicide in Boston, saying that Lloyd possibly knew of Hernandez's involvement.
The still unsolved double murder took place in July of 2012 in the theater district of Boston and involved a drive by shooting at a stoplight. Police said that a grey or silver SUV with Rhode Island license plates pulled up alongside the vehicle and opened fire, killing the two men in the front seats and leaving three people alive that were traveling in the back seat. Reports say that Hernandez was at Cure club the night of the shooting and may have interested with the two men and their group, allegedly fighting with them or having a disagreement. At the time police did know that Hernandez was at the club, but they felt that it was just coincidence of an athlete having a night out and no connection was made.
Now that Hernandez has been charged with first degree murder in the Lloyd case, police have looked into the former tight end in connection with the homicide. Hernandez was initially arrested for Lloyd's murder last Wednesday and that came after authorities were called in about the dead body of Lloyd discovered less than a mile from Hernandez's home in an industrial park.
When Hernandez was initially arrested and arraigned the state laid out some of the evidence in the case and the following day when he had a bail hearing lawyers detailed more evidence that tied the former nfl star to the shooting. Some of the evidence that was described included the fact that the body was less a mile from his home, five shell casings that were found matched bullets that Hernandez had at his home, bubble gum he purchased the night of the murder was found near the body and he was also seen arriving back home just minutes after the shots were reportedly fired.
He previously was suspended while playing for the Gators for failing a drug test and he also got into a fight with a bouncer during his first year at school. After reports of the murder came out even more information about past incidents was brought up, including a connection to a shooting while with the Gators and alleged gang ties to people on Bristol.
