Brendan Rodgers has promised some more new signings for Liverpool this summer, despite already bringing in four new players.
Liverpool have completed the signings of Spanish duo Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto along with goalkeeper Simon Mignolet and the experienced Kolo Toure.
One of the prime targets of the summer - Henrikh Mkhitaryan - slipped out of their hands with the Armenian international joining Borussia Dortmund, but Rodgers revealed his recruitment team are hard at work at identifying ideal candidates to bring in during the transfer window.
"Our recruitment team are doing a great job behind the scenes in compiling lists of players that we can afford and might be available for us," Rodgers told the club's official website.
"What we've done in the early part of the summer is to improve the squad. That's something I feel we've done with the players we've brought in.
"Now what's important over the next three to five weeks is improving the team. That's something the club is working very hard at.
"I'm sure by the time the end of August comes we'll be ready and we'll have a terrific squad ready to challenge."
The Liverpool fans are awaiting their chance to witness the four new signings in action for their club, and Rodgers said they would get a run out in the preseason friendly against Preston North End Saturday.
"There's every chance (the four will play). All of the players are working here," Rodgers added.
"If they are all well and fit then they will travel for the game on Saturday. Simon Mignolet will play, of course; Aspas, Luis Alberto and Kolo Toure -- they will all get a run out."
The big transfer news coming out of Liverpool this summer, however, will be regarding the future of Luis Suarez, as the forward continues to flirt with a move away from Anfield, with the club so far remaining mum regarding the situation apart from saying the player is expected to honor his contract a while back.
