Tim Tebow Will Play How Much In The Preseason? New England Patriots Quarterback Could Get Reps Against Philadelphia Eagles In Week 1 Friday At 7:30 PM

Tim Tebow is now a member of the New England Patriots and with Tom Brady firmly entrenched as the starter and Ryan Mallett his likely number two, there is a good chance that the former Jets quarterback will get some reps in the first preseason game on Friday night against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Tebow is almost guaranteed a roster spot after head coach Bill Belichick decided to sign him and now that he has been working on catching passes and doing other things for the team, clearly the coach feels he can contribute. The Patriots have been using Tebow in the way the Jets wished they could and on top of that they are doing it without the circus that the Jets did with their secret plays and wildcat formations.

Tebow can make a great impact on the team just because of the way he plays the game and while he didn't get the chance to put up stats last season, that doesn't mean he won't be productive this year. He rushed for over 100 yards and passed for just 39 with the Jets, but they had no idea how to use him effectively and now the Patriots will get their turn.

The first preseason game doesn't mean much to the primary starters and that's why it could be a good game for Tebow to work on some things in the passing game and in other areas. The Patriots have their own issues to work on at the tight end and wide receiver position now that Wes Welker and Aaron Hernandez are gone and the team is looking for someone to step into the void with Rob Gronkowski coming back from injury. Daniel Fells and Jake Ballard will likely get chances and Tebow now has the chance to show off what he can do the first week in the preseason.
