The Los Angeles dodgers just went on one of the best road stretches any team has seen in years and although that streak was broken by the St, Louis Cardinals on Tuesday night, on Wednesday the Dodgers will be looking to start up another road winning streak and they will do it with Ricky Nolasco on the mound.

The Dodgers almost fired manager Don Mattingly according to reports after the team got off to an awful start, but after playing some amazing baseball through the summer powered by Hanley Ramirez and Yasiel Puig, the team is now 62-50 and five games up in the National League West and the team looks like a lock to win the division. The dodgers have been one of the most consistent teams in baseball since turning things around and a lot of that has to do with Puig as well as the stellar starting pitching the team has gotten from its starters on the road.

The Dodgers have been hitting the ball very well and they have risen to 21st in the league in runs and sixth in batting average over that stretch and they now are seventh in the league in on-base percentage and they will try and turn things around against the Cardinals after losing as the team puts Shelby Miller on the mound with his 11-7 record and very solid 2.89 ERA and he comes in going 3-1 in his last five starts. The Dodgers will look to score runs early and Miller has been hot, so they will need to try and chase him off the mound.

Nolasco has been very good since coming over in a trade from the Marlins earlier in the season and he is now 2-1 with a 3.54 ERA in five starts with the team after they defeated the Cubs last Thursday. The one player to watch out for will be Matt Holliday, as he is 11 for 24 with two homers, three doubles and a triple against Nolasco in his career and now he will have the chance to face off against him again. Overall Nolasco is 7-9 with a sub-4.00 ERA and he has pitched much better with the Dodgers than he did with the Marlins.

The Dodgers have been playing so well since being on the road trip they have been on and they finally had their streak snapped by the Cardinals, but overall they still have won 32 of 40 games and that has given them quite the cushion in the West. The Cardinals are locked in a division battle themselves with the Pirates, who have the best record in baseball and St. Louis is one of the best offensive teams in the league and will use that on Wednesdays night. The team is ranked third in runs and second in batting average and they also rank third in on base percentage and 10th in slugging.
