Travis Johnson Calls Out Tony Romo, Says Dallas Cowboys QB Is Thief and Hasn't Earned A Dollar Of His Contract Extension

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is used to taking shots in the media after years of criticism from area and national reporters and now someone else has jumped on the bandwagon, former Houston defensive lineman Travis Johnson.

According to the LA Times, Johnson criticed Romo as the highest paid player in franchise history, saying that he hasn't earned the $108 million over six years that was given to him in his new contract. The team had been working on an extension for quite some time with Romo and many said they felt he didn't deserve it because he has only one playoff win in his career with the Cowboys.

Many have had the knives out for Romo since signing his extension, including Donovan McNabb, but while he has only gone 1-3 in his career in the playoffs, he has put up some amazing stats, including last season when he threw for almost 5,000 yards. Romo gets more criticism than most since he is on the Cowboys and after last season he is 55-38 as a starter in his career. Romo had 4,903 yards and 28 scores last season and he is expected to have even better numbers this year with an improved running game.

"He is a thief," Johnson said of Romo during a segment on CSN Houston. "They need to bring him up on federal charges."

Wow. That's pretty extreme, even as a joke. But he was merely expanding on another statement made earlier in the broadcast: "Tony Romo has not earned a dollar he has been given in this league."
