The fantasy football season is almost here and with many players looking to draft Robert Griffin III, many are wondering how healthy he is and how he will perform once the season begins.

Griffin was fantastic last season and after getting injured Mike Shanahan has kept him out of all the preseason games and that has worried some fantasy owners. Many have speculated that he could possibly miss Week 1 and since he is coming off an injury there is a chance he could miss time down the line. Kirk Cousins is a must draft as a handcuff for fantasy owners in case Griffin can't go and Cousins proved last season that he is an able quarterback that can put up solid numbers as well when called upon.

Griffin helped Washington make the playoffs after a 3-6 start, leading them to seven straight wins to end the season. He led the team to 10 wins for the first time since 2005 and the playoffs for the first time since 2007, but his style of play may end up being his biggest down fall. This season Griffin passed for 3,200 yards and 20 touchdowns while also rushing for 815 yards and seven scores, but dealt with various injuries.

Griffin is an amazing player and a dynamic presence in the offense, but he can't do anything for the Redskins while he is on the sidelines. Kirk Cousins has proven to be an able-bodied backup and a skilled quarterback in his limited playing time, he is not considered to be the franchise player or the quarterback of the future for the Redskins.

Injuries can derail a season and here are some of the top players to watch this year as they come back from or are dealing with injuries heading into the season, including RG3, Darren McFadden, Rob Gronkowski, Andre Johnson, Danny Amendola, Hakeem Nicks and Ryan Mathews from the Chargers. All these players have dealt with a number of issues and the most important one to watch is Griffin, as he will not play in the preseason and everyone is wondering how he will look once he is back and fully healed up.

The Redskins are hoping that his knee holds up fine and after the way he looked in training camp it appears that he is fully back to health and this season he is expected to put up some big numbers after taking the league by storm and he could be one of the best fantasy quarterbacks if healthy.

Griffin is supremely popular and that is one reason why he is appearing on the cover of GQ and is featured in a magazine cover story for this month. Head coach Mike Shanahan has said that Griffin will not play in the preseason as a precaution and while the quarterback said he did not agree, clearly the coach is the one calling the shots for the Redskins. The interview and over story goes over the injury that Griffin suffered last season as well his recovery and timetable e for getting back on the field.

Last season the team went 10-6 and won the division before losing to Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks and now the team will try and win the division for a second year in a row. The team ranked 20th in passing yards and first un rushing and Griffin is expected to be back at full strength this season. The Redskins started off with a 22-21 win over the Titans and played against the Pittsburgh Steelers before playing the Buffalo Bills and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
