Denver Broncos Rumors: Von Miller Suspension Could Get Longer From Roger Goodell After Driving Citations

The Denver Broncos are riding high after their dominating win over the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday to open the NFL season, but one player that was missing in Von Miller could end up being out for even longer, as Roger Goodell could add to his drug suspension after the linebacker was cited for a driving violation.

According to ESPN.com, Miller is already on a six game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy and now that he has been cited for driving without a license and for speeding on the roads while under his suspension, the league could make it last even longer. The report says that Goodell could decide to add games to the suspension and that would come on top of the six games he must serve for violating the police in the first place.

Making matters even worse, the report says that Miller got into trouble after he had a meeting with the NFLPA about his drug suspension and now the return trip could take him out of action even more. Miller is already dealing with numerous issues, including the fact that he is on the field and he also now has issues with bonus money that is owed to him, as ESPN.com reports that the Broncos are going to hold the money until he returns, while the NFLPA is looking into the issue to make sure no problems come up for Miller and that the Broncos act properly in regards to the bonus money that he is owed from his contract.

Without any extra penalty, Miller will be allowed to return to game action in Week 7 of the season and this is just the latest issue for Miller when it comes to the law and issues off the field, as he is dealing with a drug suspension, the speeding and he also was hit back in the summer after he did not appear in court for a traffic violation and after that a warrant was put out for his arrest and he was taken into custody after that happened.

Miller was one of the best defensive players in the NFL last season after making 18.5 sacks and this season he was expected to be a force for the team on defense after making 68 tackles last year. Miller was looked at as a player of the year candidate last season and this year, but now it appears that 2013 could end up being a lost season for the young linebacker.
