Kerley is probably the team's better option when it comes to getting down the field and behind the secondary. Mark Sanchez has hit the headlines as the former No. 1 pick might need season-ending shoulder surgery. This means, though Geno Smith appears on the injury report, that the 2013 No. 2 round pick is definitely getting the start behind center.
For the Patriots, things don't look to positive either. Because the Patriots' main stars are banged up, it will make it hard for quarterback Tom Brady. Brady will not have a great supporting cast, relying on rookies and simply inexperienced players on offense. Here's what the Patriots' injury report looks like entering Thursday's game.

Brady will still have Julian Edelman available and the wide out was his favorite target when the Patriots were around the end zone. The duo found each other for two scores against the Buffalo Bills in Week 1. While Amendola was dangerous out of the slot, Edelman became the go-to guy inside the red zone.
With these Patriots injured, the playing field has been evened out. Will Brady and the Patriots make excuses or will they find a way to make things work.
