The fantasy football season is moving through week 2 after a nice slate of exciting game and as the sun rises on the third week of the season, a number of teams are dealing with injuries at the running back position, as Reggie Bush, Eddie Lacy and Maurice Jones-Drew are all dealing with injuries.
The Lions lost a tough game 25-21 against the Arizona Cardinals on the road and they might be down running back Reggie Bush for a bit, as ESPN.com reported after the game that he will get an MRI on his knee. According to ESPN.com, Bush was injured in the middle of the game after taking a helmet to his knee and while he was able to get off the field on his own power, he returned to the game in the third quarter, but eventually was taken out and did not come back in and the Lions want to be cautious because they know his injury history.
Bush was nicked up last week in the victory over the Minnesota Vikings and now he could be out if the tests bring back anything serious and that would be a big hit for fantasy owners. Anyone who owns Bush should try and trade for or grab Joique Bell as a handcuff, especially if Bush misses the nest game for the Lions. ESPN reported last week that Bush suffered thumb and groin injuries and now he can add a knee to that list.
Bush started off the season with a very productive game for fantasy owners after rushing for 90 yards and making four catches for 101 yards and a touchdown against the Vikings and he finished the game on Sunday with 25 yards on the ground and three catches out of the backfield for 44 yards and any time he misses will be valuable for the Lions.
The Jaguars are also dealing with an injury to their running back, as Maurice Jones-Drew left the game on Sunday against the Raiders after injuring his ankle. ESPN.com is reporting that Jones could miss next week's game against the Seahawks in Seattle and while the x-rays on his ankle did now show anything broken, the team may try to play it safe after he missed time last season with an injury. Jones-Drew had just under 30 yards in the game and made one catch for one yard and now he could be out for an extended period of time if any tests come back serious.
The Green Bay Packers finally broke their streak of not having a 100-yard rusher after James Starks broke through, but it came at the expense of rookie Eddie Lacy, who left the game with a concussion. The Packers jumped out to a quick 24-0 lead against the Washington Redskins on Sunday before winning the game, but that came after Lacy was knocked out early after a tough hit to the head. Starks ended up rushing for over 130 yards and now LAcy will have to be evaluated before he can get onto the field again.
