The Boise State Broncos are 2-1 on the season after defeating Air Force in a Friday night matchup last week and now the team will hit the field again on that day of the week, as they head out to California to face the Fresno State Bulldogs on ESPN at 9 pm.
The Broncos are coming into the game after winning their first Mountain West conference matchup and now they will go for two in a row when they face the Fresno State at Bulldog Stadium Friday. The Bulldogs are undefeated at 2-0 and the game is the next tough test for the Broncos after opening the season with a disappointing loss to the Washington Huskies on the road.

The Broncos easily won their next two games while scoring over 100 combined points and allowing just 34, beating Tennessee Martin and Air Force in consecutive weeks to get a winning streak going and now Chris Petersen and the Broncos will be looking for three. The Broncos usually play stout defense for Petersen and that will need to improve going through the season, while the offense has been very productive, averaging over 400 yards per game, including over 200 on the ground in the running game.
The Broncos have a decent schedule in the middle part of the season after playing Fresno State, as they have Southern Mississippi up next before heading on the road for a tough game against Utah State. The Aggies are one of the toughest teams in the conference and they play very well at home and that game on the road starts a tough gauntlet for the Broncos, as two of their next three and three of their next five games will be on the road.
The team will head to Utah State and then hosts the pistol-running Nevada Wolfpack before playing two tough road games against BYU, which will be on ESPN, and Colorado State. The team then finishes the season with two of three at home, including home against Wyoming before a road game against San Diego State, where the Aztecs always play hard. The Broncos then finish the season with a game against New Mexico at home and then they likely will be playing in a bowl game, but they won't sniff the BCS this season.
Fresno State will play against Hawaii on the road after playing at home against Boise State and while the locale is nice, the travel can be tough for teams and then the Bulldogs will hit the road again to play against Idaho. The rest of the schedule is more manageable, as the team will host UNLV before playing San Diego State and then they will host Nevada at home. Fresno then will hit the road against Wyoming before playing New Mexico at home. The team will finish the season against San Jose State on the road and the Bulldogs are hoping they will be bowl bound by then.

The Fresno offense has been fantastic this season through two games, especially passing the ball, as they are ranked 14th in yards per game through the air and are averaging over 46 points per contest. The team had their game against Colorado postponed so they will likely have to make that up at some point and they played one of the craziest games to start the season, defeating Rutgers at home 52-51 in overtime.
