New England Patriots TV Schedule: Start Time and CBS Channel Coverage For Cincinnati Bengals Week 5 Game

Oct 06, 2013 09:31 AM EDT

The New England Patriots are one of a handful of teams in the NFL that are undefeated and heading into Week 5, the team will have a tough matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals on the road in Ohio, a game that will be broadcast on CBS at 1:00 PM ET.

The Patriots are coming off of a close win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night football last weekend and now they will travel for the second straight game to play the Bengals. The schedule has three road games in four weeks for the Pats, with the New Orleans Saints at home next week before the team travels to play the AFC East division rival New York Jets. The Patriots have been playing better on offense since losing Danny Amendola in the first game of the season and with Rob Gronkowski out of the lineup again, Brady will be looking to connect with Julian Edelman and Kenbrell Thompkins.

Brady was getting frustrated with his receivers from earlier in the season, but he appears to be getting more comfortable with rookies like Kenbrell Thompkins and Aaron Dobson and Edelman is currently the leading receiver with 34 catches for 319 yards and two touchdowns, while Thompkins has over 250 yards with 15 catches and three scores while stepping in for Amendola. The rushing attack has not been as consistent as last season and Stevan Ridley is the leading rusher with 174 yards, while LeGarrette Blount is coming on with Shane Vereen out, rushing for 155 yards and a touchdown.

Brady has been excellent despite the offensive changes, including losing Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez, as he has passed for over 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns. The game on Sunday will be broadcast on CBS at 1 pm and could be one of the best games of the week. Bill Belichick will be looking to take the team to 5-0 this week for the first time in a while.

The team is still undefeated this season and if they win on Sunday, it could set up a game against the Saints between 5-0 teams if New Orleans defeats Chicago on the road. The Patriots could be undefeated into their bye week and that could come after games against the Jets, Miami Dolphins and the currently 0-4 Pittsburgh Steelers. The team has a bye week next and then they will play on the road for Monday night football against the Carolina Panthers.

The game in Week 12 will be one of the most anticipated of the season on Sunday night football, as the team will host the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning, another team that is currently undefeated. New England has a road game against Houston the following week and then will finish with the Cleveland Browns in Week 14 before playing two road games against the Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens before ending the year the way they started with a game against the Buffalo Bills.
