The BCS Standings still have another couple weeks before coming out, but already a number of teams have thrown their hats in the ring as the top team in the nation, as Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, Clemson and Stanford all could have cases for being in the top five of the rankings when they are released on Sunday, October 20 on ESPN.
The release will be on ESPN and likely will stream on Watch ESPN and after the sixth week of the season, Alabama remains in first place in the top 25 and should be there for the BCS rankings as well as long as they are undefeated. The BCS rankings will be a thing of the past eventually, but for now it's what college football has and behind Alabama in the AP Top 25 is Oregon, Clemson, Ohio State and Stanford in the top five, while Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Texas A&M and LSU round out the top 10.
All those teams arte within striking distance depending on how the schedule plays out and among the top 10 there are seven undefeated teams, including Alabama at the top. It will be hard for any team to stop Alabama and after getting past Texas A&M and Ole Miss already, the next big game for the Crimson Tide will be against LSU in November. The team already defeated Virginia Tech as well as Johnny Manziel this season and the next three weeks will be SEC opponents in Kentucky, Arkansas and Tennessee before playing the rival Tigers.
Alabama will finish the season with two of three road games against Miss State and Auburn with Chattanooga in the middle and that could mean another undefeated season. Ohio State is going for two of those in a row after defeating Northwestern on Saturday and they will have a strong case if they keep wining as well.
