The Oakland Raiders brought in a number of players this week for tryouts after cutting quarterback Matt Flynn and after looking at Trent Edwards, David Carr and Pat White as free agent options, the team opted to sign defensive tackle Daniel Muir.

According to the Mercury News, the team opted to sign a veteran defensive tackle rather than a quarterback, as they could promote Tyler Wilson to the 53-man roster. The team is dealing with some injuries up front and now they have another option on the line for depth heading into their game this week against

The team worked out a number of players and now McKenzie may decide to stick with Terrelle Pryor as the starter with Matt McGloin as the backup and he also can bring up Tyler Wilson if he wants to. The Raiders are 2-3 on the season after winning on Sunday night against the San Diego Chargers and they feel like Muir can be a solid option on the line after he has played in over 40 games in his career, including stints with the Colts, Green Bay Packers as well as the Jets.

The report also says that the team signed back offensive tackle Jack Cornell and he was placed on the practice squad for the team. The Raiders have a tough road game this week against the Kansas City Chiefs, one of a few undefeated teams left in the NFL.
