Rafael Nadal has had quite the year, but his fantastic run after winning the US Open and taking back the number one ranking ended at the Shanghai Masters, as he lost to Juan Martin Del Potro in the semifinals in straight sets, falling 6-2, 6-4 on Saturday.

Del Potro advanced to the finals and he will now face off against Novak Djokovic, who was the former number one player and he defeated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in straight sets 6-2, 7-5 and now they will play in the championship match. Del Potro finally beat Nadal once again after doing so back in 2009 and sets up a great finals matchup with Djokovic.

Nadal looked good early, but the forehand of Del Potro was too good and he ended up pulling off a 4-0 start and while he came back in the second set, he was outlasted. Nadal has made it back to number one ahead of the final ATP Masters tournament in London and now Djokovic has the chance to win his 20th match in a row in the finals.

"I played so solid all the time, hitting so hard the ball. I saw Rafa playing very far off the baseline, which is good for my game, for my serve and confidence. That's the way to beat this guy," del Potro said to the Associated Press.
