Oct 30, 2013 08:55 PM EDT

The Oklahoma City Thunder are considered one of the favorites to make it to the NBA finals and they will open the season against the Utah Jazz at EnergySolutions Arena at 9:00 pm and the game will be streaming online from the NBA.com league website with the NBA League Pass.

The Thunder are starting the season without Russell Westbrook in the starting lineup after his surgery last season and now things will be on Kevin Durant for the Thunder to have a nice start. The team is still expected to be one of the top clubs out west and they are playing in the toughest division in the league with the Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies as well as the San Antonio Spurs and after winning 60 games last season, the challenge should be even tougher this year. The Rockets added Dwight Howard and already have a talented roster with James Harden, Chandler Parsons and Jeremy Lin and they should be one of the best teams in the west.

The Jazz are anticipating a successful season and the Thunder come back after losing just 22 games and Durant should be in the running for MVP after scoring 28 points last season and leading the team in rebounding. Westbrook is one of the best point guards in the league and OKC will miss him and he comes back after averaging over seven assists last season. The east is not as deep as the west, with the Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, Brooklyn Nets and NY Knicks looking like the best teams and the Thunder will have to deal with the Rockets, Thunder, Los Angeles Clippers, Lakers as well as the Memphis Grizzlies and Spurs and it will be a very competitive fight for the top seeds this season. The team will play the Timberwolves next this season on the road and then they will head home for their home opener.
