The Miami Dolphins have been at the center of a firestorm for what's been going on with Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin and as more news comes out about the lineman, the worse it seemingly gets for the Dolphins and now reports have Incognito holding team meetings at a strip club.
A new report from ESPN.com picks up on a story from the National Football Post that quoted sources as saying that Incognito held meetings at a Florida strip club for offensive linemen and the report says that he would fine them for not attending. This is another money story coming up after it was reported that Incognito got $15,000 from Martin for a trip to Las Vegas that he did not attend. The news comes after a number of stories have come out about Incognito and his behavior, including that he left a racist and threatening voice mail on Jonathan Martin's phone and that he also continuously harassed Martin.
The report says that if players did not show up, they would be fined in kangaroo court and those players would also be mocked for not showing up. Quotes from courses say that Incognito didn't care whether players worried about going to a strip club even if they had wives or girlfriends and Incognito is still currently suspended for conduct detrimental to the team. Dolphins players defended Incognito, even black ones about his racial comments and that is a very scary development for young black athletes in the NFL, as Incognito has been seen on video also using the n-word.
The NFL is now investigating the matter and Martin is meeting with Ted Wells, who is taking charge of the investigation. On top of that, his lawyer, David Cornwell, said that what Martin went through went beyond hazing and that other players made comments about his family in a threatening nature and that he also was physically attacked by another teammate.
Either way, Jeff Ireland and the entire organization looks pathetic and Joe Philbin needs to be fired for not having control of his locker room.
