New England Patriots vs. Carolina Panthers Radio Stream: Listen Online NFL Monday Night Game ESPN Streaming

Nov 18, 2013 08:08 PM EST

The Carolina Panthers are getting the national spotlight on Monday night football in Week 11 and it will be a marquee matchup on ESPN, as the team hosts the New England Patriots at Bank of America Stadium starting up at 8:30 on TV and streaming online from the WatchESPN website and on ESPN Radio.

The Panthers come into the game on a five week winning streak and now it will be up to the Pats to knock them off and while the AFC East is likely their division to win this season, New England knows that home field is up for grabs with the Denver Broncos coming to town next week and this matchup will be crucial to win. The Patriots are 7-2 this season and next week will be one of the most anticipated games ever, as Peyton Manning will visit Brady and the Patriots for possibly the final time in the regular season and that matchup is getting plenty of publicity, but the Patriots know that the Panthers are not a team to sniff at this season. Cam Newton is playing very well this season and the defense has been top notch and the Patriots will look to get the passing game going, which is ranked 18th in the league with over 230 yards per game.

The Patriots have had plenty of injuries on both sides of the ball this season, but they are getting healthy on offense with Danny Amendola and Rob Gronkowski back on the field and that should open things up in the running game as well. Speaking of the rushing attack, having Shane Vereen back from wrist surgery could break things out even more for Brady and the receivers, as Vereen was expected to be the standard third down back and catch passes out of the backfield and now he can slide back in and do that after having over 150 total yards in the first game this season before getting injured. Vereen had high expectations this season after scoring three times in the playoff game against Houston last season and now he will get his chance once again.

Vereen is expected to play a nice amount of snaps on Monday night and having Gronkowski going in his fourth game back could be electric, as he is coming off of a nine catch performance against the Steelers for 145 yards and two touchdowns and that came after his opening game two weeks before with eight catches against the Jets. Gronk already has 19 catches this season in just three games and if he can stay healthy, Brady and the offense should continue succeeding and one of the toughest games of the season will be coming next week with the Denver Broncos.

The Panthers come into the game ranked in the top five in rushing and passing yards allowed per game and that will be tough to overcome for the Pats. The Panthers have won the past fiev weeks on the strength of their defense and they have not allowed 20 points in a game since losing to the Cardinals in October and that is a very long stretch to keep that up. The team has allowed just 19 points in the past two weeks to the Falcons and the Niners and over their winning streak they have scored 30 or more points in four of five games. Newton will be the focus on Monday night and the matchup between him and Brady should be exciting to watch.

The game between the Patriots and the Panthers starts on ESPN at 8:30 pm and is a presentation of Monday night football.
