The English Premier League schedule picks up on Sunday with some potentially great matches after an exciting set of games on Saturday and the early match on the calendar has Manchester United taking on Aston Villa at Villa Park and the match will be streaming live online from the NBA Live Extra and it will be important for Man U to get a positive EPL result.

Following play on Saturday, Manchester City and Chelsea muscled their way into the top part of the standings and pushed Liverpool out of their top three spot and they will get the chance to answer back when they play Tottenham on Sunday. Manchester United is at ninth on the table and they need a positive result against the number 11 team as they push into the December schedule. The team has had a rough stretch and with a number of games coming up they can start to turn things around. The team hasn't won a Premier League match in a month and while they got some points over their last three matches, the play has not been great and with four matches coming in the next few weeks following the match on Saturday, this will be crucial for the team to get. The team advanced in the Champions League, but they lost 1-0 to Newcastle last time out in the EPL and they also lost to Everton after drawing with Tottenham.

Things have already been tough for Man U and now they have to deal with Robin van Persie being out for a month during all of these matches and after losing the past two, they have to rebound with a positive result on Sunday. Van Persie did not miss any matches last season and now he will be out with a thigh issue that is serious enough to keep him out of the lineup and it came last week when the team eliminated Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League and it happened when he did a corner kick that was the one goal scored in the match by Phil Jones. Van Persie has already missed five matches this season and he has seven goals and now he will rest up to get back in action. He could be back against Chelsea in January and that is shaping up to be a big match.

The top match on Saturday was Manchester City winning big over Arsenal, taking down the Gunners with six goals, including the first of the match from Sergio Agüero, which was followed by Álvaro Negredo and then two from Fernandinho and another from David Silva. Theo Walcott did his part with two goals for the table leading Gunners and now they will have to rebound next time out.

Manchester United needs to turn things around and here is more on the Premier League from Reuters.com:

Persie will play no part in Manchester United's busy holiday program after being ruled out for a month with a thigh injury, manager David Moyes said on Friday. "It's unfortunate because I think if you look at our record with Wayne Rooney and Robin in the team, it is actually very good and we have not had them for quite a period recently," Moyes said.

Responsibility will now fall to Rooney who has been in great form this season despite United's problems and who is edging towards Bobby Charlton's club scoring record of 247. Rooney will clock up 500 first-team appearances (including with Everton) on Sunday and Moyes thinks that, at 28, the England international is getting better. With United trying to claw back the damage of a poor first third of the Premier League season, starting at Aston Villa on Sunday, the Dutchman's absence is a big blow, especially as they have not won in the Premier League without him.

"Robin van Persie is out for a month. He picked up a thigh strain in taking a corner kick which led to the goal (against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday)," Moyes told a news conference.

Van Persie, who has scored seven goals in 11 Premier League matches this season, only returned from a groin injury in last weekend's 1-0 home defeat by Newcastle United, a result that left them in ninth place, 13 points behind leaders Arsenal.
