The BCS national championship game is coming up soon on Monday, January 6 and the game between the Florida State Seminoles and the Auburn Tigers has people all over the nation placing bets and FSU comes into the game as the favorite with a seven point spread and that spread has many making bets on the game for the college football title.
Auburn comes into the game as the underdog, but based on history, the Tigers have a true shot to win, as the SEC has won eight straight BCS national championship games and after Alabama won last season, the Tigers will try to keep that going against the Seminoles. The team made it into the national championship against Florida State after winning over Alabama in thrilling fashion in the Iron Bowl and that game saw the Tigers come back and win on a missed field goal return and many see it as the biggest upset and win of all time in college football.
The Seminoles made it in on an easy schedule and are undefeated with their Heisman winning quarterback Jameis Winston and he has been fantastic this season, setting freshman records and going for over 30 touchdowns this season. The Seminoles have one of the best defenses in the nation and they will be tested by Auburn, as the Tigers run it better than nearly everyone in the nation and they have a fantastic back in Tre Mason and this will match up two of the best teams in the country on offense and the Tigers will have to find a way to keep the game tight.
One Auburn fan bet on the team when the odds were 500 to 1 and now he stands in line to cash in big time and this comes after the Tigers won over Missouri in the SEC championship game. The Tigers had Mason rush for over 300 yards and four scores in the game and that got him invited to the Heisman ceremony and now he will be the focus for the team as they prepare for the national championship.
Florida State has not played in one tough game all season and they come in after winning the ACC over Duke and that was another easy game and at least the Tigers have been tested at least a couple times this season and they pulled out massive wins over Georgia and Alabama. One could argue that Auburn has better wins than any of the games Florida State played at all this season and defeating Alabama puts the team in great position to pull an upset against the undefeated Seminoles, who could be exposed a bit because of the schedule they had in the ACC. The team had nice wins against Clemson and Duke, but the team also played Idaho and scored 80 points and also played Maryland and shut them out.
The two teams will duke it out in the national championship game and the running backs will be a big focus and Mason should be the main option with Nick Marshall, while Winston will be the top player to watch on FSU.
