Washington Redskins Rumors: Robert Griffin III Happy With New Head Coach Jay Gruden? RG3 Relationship With Dan Snyder Crucial For 2014 Success

The Washington Redskins are looking for yet another head coach after firing Mike Shanahan and after interviewing a number of candidates, it appears the team is ready to hire Jay Gruden from the Cincinnati Bengals and that puts the focus on quarterback Robert Griffin III, as he did not get along with his last coach and now he is set to start over with a new one.

According to ESPN.com, the Redskins are ready to hire Gruden after a long search for a head coach and he will take over after serving as the offensive coordinator for the Bengals over the past three seasons, helping the team make the playoffs in each of those years. The report from ESPN.com says that Gruden has close relationships with a number of members of the organization and the front office, including with Redskins secondary coach Raheem Morris and general manager Bruce Allen.

Gruden has helped bring Andy Dalton into the NFL as a solid starting quarterback and while he has lost three straight playoff games, he tossed for over 4,000 yards this season and has been over 3,000 yards in the past three seasons and Gruden has also helped the team move from 18th to 12th to 6th in scoring over the past three seasons and it comes after he previously was the head coach in the Arena Football League and this is now his first NFL head coaching job.

Working with RG3 and getting Griffin back into the lineup with confidence is the main issue for Gruden coming in after Shanahan and Griffin did not get along and it appears that it could be a good relationship, as Gruden is a hardnosed coach who knows how to motivate players. The Redskins finished the season with a terrible losing streak and they ended up sitting Griffin for the final three games and ended up just 3-13 after winning the NFC East division last season.

RG3 and his relationship with Gruden will be crucial for the success of the teams going forward and he comes over after helping the Bengals win the AFC North this season.
