NY Giants Rumors: Hakeem Nicks Meets With Team About Free Agent Contract As Karl Dorrell and Mike Sullivan Top Offensive Coordinator Options

The New York Giants have plenty of offseason questions after starting the season 0-6 and finishing with a losing record for the second time under Tom Coughlin and the two biggest are dealing with Hakeem Nicks and his new free agent contract as well as finding a new coordinator to take over the offense for Kevin Gilbride and names like Karl Dorrell and Mike Sullivan are the top favorites.

According to ESPN.com, the Giants and Nicks' representatives have met already since the season ended and while many have predicted that he will be leaving after not scoring a TD this season, Nicks said a charity event that he would like to stay in New York. Nicks was a first round pick for the team and was a crucial part of the Super Bowl run two years ago and now he will be a free agent and a number of other teams will be looking to sign him despite him being banged up the past two years.

Nicks was banged up and the offensive line was a mess and now that Gilbride is gone, that is the main issue that he pointed to for Eli Manning's struggles and that will be one area the team needs to improve next season. The team has to find a new coordinator and right now Mike Sullivan and Karl Dorrell look like solid options. According to Pro Football Talk, the team will be interviewing Dorrell, who previously was the Texans quarterbacks coach before Bill O'Brien took over and while he hasn't coached an offense in the league, he called plays in college and was the UCLA head coach for five seasons before getting fired and now it looks like him and Mike Sullivan are the front runners.

The team also has a number of free agents to deal with this offseason, including:

Justin Tuck

Brandon Myers

Andre Brown

Hakeem Nicks

Aaron Ross

Linval Joseph

Terrell Thomas

Steve Brown and many many more.

"[The offensive line] made it impossible for [Manning] to function. ... You give him help and he's proven he can win a championship," Gilbride told SiriusXM.
