The Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Kings are playing live and outdoors from Dodger Stadium and the NHL outdoor game series continues on Saturday night and it should be a great atmosphere when things get started in LA at 9:30 pm and the game will be broadcast live on the NBC Sports Network and will be streaming from the live extra and features one of the best teams in the league.
The Ducks come in playing very well this season and are in first place in the Pacific division with 81 points and after winning over the Kings in their last game, they will face off in LA against the team again and then will host the Minnesota Wild after that. The Ducks come into the game ranked in the top 10 in scoring and they are third in goals per game and sixth in goals against and that will have to come in handy for the team as they play outside in LA for the first time. The team is ranked in the top half of the league in power play and penalty kill percentage and they have Ryan Getzlaf leading the way with 59 points and 34 assists and Corey Perry has been the top scorer with 27 goals this season.
The Kings come into the matchup after losing to the Ducks on Thursday night on the road and they will continue their California tour with the San Jose Sharks next. The team has Mike Richards tops in assists and Jeff Carter first in goals both teams were very excited to get out on the ice for practice and this game comes the day before the Rangers and the Devils play in New York at Yankee Stadium. The Kings come into the game ranked first in goal with goals against and they are just 25th in goals per game and they are also in the top 10 in penalty kill percentage and those matchups will be very key to the outdoor game on Saturday night.
The teams are getting the chance to play outdoors in nice weather, which is the opposite of past outdoor games in other cities and the one tomorrow in NY, where it snowed on Saturday. The temperature is expected to be in the 80s and the ice could get torn up a bit and both sides said they felt good going into the game after skating out on the rink over the past two days.
