Terrelle Pryor Rumors: Oakland Raiders Release Possible As Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans and Vikings Interested In QB?

The Oakland Raiders are gearing up for a big 2014 offseason and quarterback Terrelle Pryor could be involved, as rumors say his release could be coming once the league year opens and teams like the Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans and Minnesota Vikings could be interested in the QB if he hits the free agent market at some point.

The Raiders took Pryor in the supplemental draft a couple years ago and now he looks like he is on his way out in Oakland, as head coach Dennis Allen said earlier that the future QB of the franchise may not be on the roster. According to ESPN.com, a team like the Eagles could be interested in Pryor as a backup, as they have Nick Foles and may lose Michael Vick and Pryor would fit well into Kelly's system and could take over if Foles is injured. The Vikings may be in the market for a new QB and he could be an option, while the Houston Texans appear likely to use the draft to upgrade at the position.

The Raiders have some big decisions to make, as they have a top draft pick and could be in play for names like Johnny Manziel, Blake Bortles and Teddy Bridgewater and that could lead to the team getting rid of Pryor. Last season Pryor showed some great flashes as quarterback for the Raiders, but he also looked lost at times and his passing skills are not quite there yet, although he was explosive running the ball. Pryor was second on the team in rushing and for a few weeks at the beginning of the season was leading the league in that category.

Many speculated that the Raiders would be more explosive and productive with Pryor at quarterback over Matt Flynn, but the numbers didn't translate to that and he ended up splitting time with undrafted rookie Matt McGloin. Pryor got the start in Week 17 and after firing his agent for comments he made about Allen, he hired Drew Rosenhaus and that is another reason why many think he will be on his way to another team this offseason.

Pryor showed why the team took a chance on him with his play against the Steelers this season, as he had a 90-yard touchdown run against Pittsburgh to start that game and that is the type of flash the team hoped he had on a more consistent basis. The Raiders won that game and while he had made just 10 of 19 passes for 88 yards, the play with his legs was the highlight. The Vikings may take a QB in the top 10 in the draft as well and Pryor could be an option if that doesn't work out. ESPN reporter and former AFC West overall blogger Bill Williamson wrote about Pryor and said he could fit into the offense for Chip Kelly and the Eagles, as the head coach previously recruited him in college.

Pryor finished the season with 1,798 yards and seven scores with 11 interceptions and he was great rushing the ball, averaging nearly seven yards per carry and he had 576 yards and two scores on the season on the ground.
