The Oklahoma City Thunder have not been mentioned much in trade talks and now the team could get involved at the last minute, as a deal for Greg Monroe with Jeremy Lamb, Steven Adams or Kendrick Perkins could be an option, while the team also is considering a move for Iman Shumpert with the Knicks.
The Thunder are the best team in the west and have the best record in the league for now and with Russell Westbrook coming back, Sam Presti is looking to shore up the bench. The Pistons deal is impossible, we know, but SI.com proposed it as one we'd all love to go down and while it won't, it is fun to explore. The Pistons have been looking to trade Monroe and Josh Smith, but so far they have not found any type of move to their liking.
The Thunder don't "need" to make a move at the deadline and for some time Perkins has come up as a possible trade chip, but no teams want to take on his contract right now. According to ESPN.com, the Thunder and the Knicks could potentially work on a deal for Iman Shumpert and that will be contingent on whether his knee injury from last night is clear on his MRI. The deal would cost a first round pick, but that will depend on his knee and on top of that, the Clippers deal from earlier in the day is also an option.
The Knicks and Clippers reportedly were talking about a move involving Shumpert and Raymond Felton, but the Clippers do not want to take on the PG contract. The Knicks feel they have to try and make a move at the deadline to get their season in order and it also could help Carmelo Anthony stay when and if he opts out over the summer.
Evan Turner has been one of the most mentioned names in trade rumors heading into the deadline and he looks like a player that the Philadelphia 76ers are willing to deal, as he is set to be a free agent after the two sides did not come to an agreement on an extension.
