The NBA trade deadline is now over for 2014 and the rumors roundup has a number of completed deals and ones that never made it, as Rajon Rondo, Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik were not traded and the Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, Denver Nuggets, Cleveland Cavaliers, 76ers, Denver Nuggets and Golden State Warriors making smaller moves rather than ones with names like Rajon Rondo and Omer Asik.
The Celtics stood past mostly and so did the Knicks, while the Clippers came in at the last minute and sent Antawn Jamison to the Hawks. The Miami Heat pulled off a move with Roger Mason Jr. to open a roster spot, while the Bobcats acquired two players from the Bucks in guard Luke Ridnour and Gary Neal and now the team has some depth heading into the back stretch. The Bucks took Ramon Sessions and now the team has the chance to solidify a playoff run, as they are in the eighth seed.
This moves Neal, who was at odds with the Bucks and now his $3.25 million is in Charlotte with Ridnour. The Wizards traded for Andre Miller in a three team deal with the Sixers and Nuggets and now he is out of Denver after being at odds with Brian Shaw and the team. The move gives depth for the Wizards behind John Wall and $5 million contract is now with the Wizards, while Eric Maynor heads to the 76ers. Miller was averaging 5.9 points and 3.3 assists and in the deal Jan Vesely goes to the Nuggets.
Mason was moved by the Heat to open up a roster spot and now the team has some flexibility and the deal was for a very protected second round pick and basically the move was some roster cleanup. The Kings plan on waiving Mason and now Miami has the chance to add another veteran to the bench. Mason averaged 3.0 points in 25 games for the Heat.
