The Michigan Wolverines are playing against Purdue in a Big Ten college basketball game on Wednesday night and the matchup will be live from Mackey Arena at 7 pm and comes after the Wolverines won against MSU and now they are ranked in the top 20 and are leading the conference heading into the back end of the schedule.

The Boilermakers match up against the Wolverines with a 15-12 record overall and Michigan has been playing very well in the conference, losing just three games this season. The team played against Michigan State and won after 25 points from leading scorer Nik Stauskas and he has been excellent this season once again and the team got five assists from him and five rebounds from Glenn Robinson and now they play on Wednesday before a matchup on Saturday against Minnesota and that will be back at the Crisler Center.

The team comes in averaging 75 points per game and they are ranked in the top 25 in shooting percentage, as they are hitting nearly 48 percent of their field goals to be 23rd in the nation. The team is allowing just 65 points per game and they have won two of the last three games and their last four have been against all ranked teams. The top of the Big Ten is stacked and the Wolverines defeated both Michigan State and Ohio State, but they lost to the other ranked teams during that stretch in Wisconsin and against Iowa and that matchup against the Hawkeyes was on the road. The team played four ranked teams in a row and they previously did it against three earlier in the season and won all of those and now they have some major experience heading into the conference tournament.

The Wolverines finish the season with Purdue and Minnesota before playing Illinois and Indiana and then it's the conference tournament. The team is looking to win the Big Ten title outright over Michigan State and these last games will be crucial for that. Michigan has the head to head after being MSU twice and they currently are a half game up and are over a game up on Wisconsin and Ohio State as well.

Stauskas is leading the team in scoring once again with 17 points per game and he tops in assists as well with over three and he is shooting nearly 50 percent from the field. Mitch McGary has been solid on the boards with over eight per game and the Wolverines look to be one that makes some noise come March. Purdue comes in after a loss against Nebraska and they next play against Iowa before finishing the season against Wisconsin and Northwestern.
