The San Antonio Spurs and LA Lakers are playing live on Wednesday night and the game will be streaming live on WatchESPN from ESPN and starts up at 10:30 pm ET from the Staples Center in Los Angeles and comes as the team is looking to end the season with some positive play, as the playoffs are out of reach and the Spurs are looking to get the number one seed in the west.
The Spurs come into the game after a nice win over the Utah Jazz and they got 21 points from Manu Ginobili in that game and seven assists from Tony Parker and they now play the Lakers before a matchup with the Sacramento Kings. The Spurs have been one of the most consistent teams in the NBA this season and they are 50-16 on the year, while the Lakers are 22-44 and San Antonio comes in ranked seventh in the league in scoring with 105 points per game, while they are ranked second in points allowed. The team is 16th in rebounding and second in assists per game and they are first in the southwest division heading into the back stretch of the season.
The Spurs have pulled away in their division and now they have won 10 straight games and they are over five up on the Houston Rockets and amazingly they now have won 50 games or more for the 15th straight season. During that run of games the team defeated the Lakes handily and now the two teams face off again and the Spurs will be looking to snag another victory.
The Lakers come into the matchup after that game, which was the worst loss for the team against San Antonio and they next will play against the Washington Wizards. The team is averaging 101 points per game this season, but they are allowing nearly 109 per game to rank 29th in the league and the team is fourth in assists per game and 23rd in rebounding. Pau Gasol led the team with 18 points and 11 rebounds in the game against the Spurs and now they will try to rebound and they come in at fifth in the Pacific division.
