Liverpool hosts Sunderland on Wednesday for the English Premier League match schedule and the game comes live from the Anfield and has the Reds looking to stay hot with Luis Suarez and the match streams online from the NBC Sports Live Extra website at 4 pm ET and 9:00 pm local time and has the club looking to continue winning at home.
Liverpool has been moving up in the top part of the table all year and after being in first place in the standings around the holidays, the team has played itself back into great position down the back stretch, as they come into the day just four points back of Chelsea and they can get things closer, as the Blues do not play until the weekend. Liverpool has one match in hand on the Blues and they have been by far the highest scoring club in the Premier League this season and that has been in large part due to Suarez, who has established himself as a top scorer and he is leading the league in goals and has been in that position for some time and he had another three over the weekend and will be looking for more on Wednesday.
Liverpool knows they can't overlook Sunderland if they want to continue rising on the league table and they went behind twice over the weekend in the game against Cardiff and despite winning, manager Brendan Rodgers said that he has his team prepared for the target on their backs. The schedule has some big games looming and Rodgers said that he is getting his team focused on what is in front of them right now rather than what is coming and that is one reason why they have been playing so well as of late. Suarez has continued his dazzling play and if he keeps putting in scores like that, no one will catch him in the stats this season.
The team was dominant against Cardiff City and despite going down 1-0 and then 2-1 in the first 25 minutes Suarez was on point and so was Martin Skrtel, who put in the two middle goals to get the team up 3-2 and they never looked back. Suarez ended up with another hat trick and Daniel Sturridge also added a goal and now the team will be looking to pad that lead as they take on Sunderland on Wednesday. Sturridge is second on the team ahead of Steven Gerrard in scoring and they are both behind Suarez, who is the EPL leader in scores.
Liverpool comes in after winning three straight matches on the road and before that they won at the Anfield and that came after their last loss, which was a defeat against Arsenal and that came at the Emirates Stadium. The team won over Southampton next and then against Manchester United at Old Trafford and they outscored the team's 6-0 over the two matches and that was a rough defeat for Man U as they played in front of the home fans. The team now plays against Sunderland at home before two of the next three at the Anfield, including against Tottenham and then a huge matchup with Manchester City. That match will have table implications and they also will host Chelsea at the Anfield before playing against Crystal Palace and Newcastle to end the season.
