The St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds keep their rivalry going Tuesday night, as they are playing baseball on the MLB game schedule and the matchup starts at 8:15 pm ET from Busch Stadium in Missouri and the game is streaming from MLB.com and has Lance Lynn taking on Homer Bailey in the pitching matchup.

The Cardinals come into the game after winning against the Reds and that saw Michael Wacha get the win on Monday and that came after he previously was lights out in the playoffs. The Cardinals have a great young staff this season and these three games show it, as Wacha pitched on Monday, Lynn is on the mound tonight and Shelby Miller comes after and that's not even mentioning Joe Kelly, who had a great season in 2013. The Cardinals made it to the World Series against the Red Sox and now they are looking to try and win the NL again.

The game on Wednesday is an afternoon matchup and that will have Mike Leake taking on Miller and the two teams will be looking to get into position early in the central division. Last season the Cardinals won the division in a dog fight and the Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates made the playoffs as wild cards and now all three teams could be strong again and the Brewers are coming off of a sweep of the Boston Red Sox this past week.

The Cardinals have not been swinging the bats as well yet as compared to last season and they have 22 runs after the first week and they are 27th in batting average and slugging percentage, while they are also 24th in on base percentage. The pitching has been solid from the starters, but the overall ERA leaves something to be desired and they are sixth right now in quality starts.

The Reds come in playing worse on offense and they are just 2-5 this season to start and they are last in the NL central right now. The team has scored just 18 runs over this time and they are ranked 23rd in the league in batting average, 22nd in on base percentage and 25th in slugging percentage. The team has been solid from the mound, pitching four quality starts with the fourth best batting average allowed, while the team is ranked 15th in ERA and 11th in WHIP through the first week. The team has a strong front end to the rotation and they are hoping that Bailey, after signing his mega extension in the offseason can help them get back on track.
