The Seattle Sounders and Colorado Rapids are playing on the MLS soccer schedule on Saturday and the game at 4 pm ET from CenturyLink Field has the two teams looking for wins and it will be streaming online from the Major League Soccer website and Clint Dempsey will be looking to continue his strong play as the season gets through April.
Seattle comes into the game after a win against Chivas USA and that came after a victory against Dallas for two wins in a row on the road and that was big for the team as they try to get a run going as they head home. The Sounders now will play three straight games at the Link and the should Dempsey and the front line even more confidence after scoring eight goals in the past three games and they now play against Colorado and Philadelphia before a rematch with Dallas after the win a couple weeks ago.
Seattle started the season with a win against Kansas City after a late goal in extra time to get the win against the defending MLS Cup champs and then after that they lost to Toronto and then won against Montreal before falling against the Crew at home. The team pulled a draw with the Timbers and have now won two in a row and after playing the next three at home the team visits New England and then plays against San Jose and the Vancouver Whitecaps. Seattle coach Sigi Schmid said that his team is ready to play and that things have been taking a positive turn over the past two games and they are on a verge of a nice roll.
The coach also came out against the MLS playing games during the World Cup, as the teams and their players were expecting to have off during the two week event. The coach made his comments about the US Open Cup and while he said that he supports a competition like that, scheduling it during the World Cup when players and the teams were supposed to have off is a mistake. The World Cup runs from June 12-24 and one top of that, many of the best players in the league will be participating.
Clint Dempsey scored two goals against Dallas and that game was a nice win for the team and now the Sounders are 4-2-1 and that win was the first loss for Dallas this year, which put them at 4-1-1. The league standings in the east has Kansas City on top, while Dallas is leading the west and Seattle comes in at second and this win would pull them into a tie with KC at the top of the league table in the conference. The top in the east has KC over Columbus, NY Red Bulls and Toronto, while Dallas leads Seattle, Real Salt Lake, Colorado and Vancouver and right now the Sounders and RSL are tied at 13 points.
