Trainer Steve Asmussen has been in the news this year along with horse racing for all the wrong reasons and he was the subject of a harsh article in the New York Times and he said that accusations made against him are untrue. Asmussen was part of the article and video released from PETA and winning the Longines Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs with Winchell Thoroughbreds' Untapable and Napravnik on the horse only added to the attention for that. Napravnik is looking to be the first woman to win the big race and taking the Oaks could give her some momentum in that effort and she could be building after winning her second Oaks race in three years. Napravnik will be suspended for four days after the Derby and the punishment for Napravnik comes after contact in a race and she will serve the penalty next week and she comes in looking to make some history.
