The NFL draft is Thursday and that means final mock draft picks for some experts and MMQB.com writer Peter King has made his selections for the first round and he has a number of thoughts about the top part of the draft, including the possibility of a Texans trade, picks of Johnny Manziel and Jadeveon Clowney as well as what the Vikings and Browns will do in the top 10.
King is not a fan of the mock drafts and he makes very good points about why and while he doesn't go crazy like everyone else, he put out a final sheet of the first round and called the "Who Teams Should Select Mock Draft." King has made a number of observations heading into the draft and while he sees Johnny Manziel as a great talent, he doesn't see him as the first overall pick of the draft.
The Houston Texans pick Jadeveon Clowney in his mock draft and that is an expected result that many think will play out on Thursday. Clowney would have been the number one pick had he been able to come out the previous year and now the Texans could add him to make a crazy line of Clowney and JJ Watt. The Rams take Greg Robinson and while this pick could be traded, watch out for Jeff Fisher making a safe pick and this could be a solid option for the team, as Robinson is the highest rated lineman on offense.
The Jaguars take Johnny Manziel and that would be an awesome pick, as the team has been predicted mostly as making a safe selection here. Things could change, but Manziel makes sense to a team like Jacksonville and that would give Gus Bradley the quarterback of the future for the franchise and better star than Tim Tebow ever could have been. Jake Matthews and Teddy Bridgewater are the next two picks and King speculated that the Raiders could go after him despite his bad pro day and that the team traded for Matt Schaub in the offseason.
The rest of the top 10 has Atlanta taking Khalil Mack, while Tampa Bay picks Sammy Watkins at wide receiver ahead of Blake Bortles. The rest of the top 10 has Eric Ebron to the Buffalo Bills, while the Detroit Lions pick Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.
