Lithuania and Finland are playing on the World Cup friendly schedule on Thursday and the match starts up at 10 am ET Ventspils Stadions and is streaming online and both teams will be looking to play well, as they are not heading to the Brazil tournament in 2014 and that starts up in a couple weeks and teams like the US and Mexico are getting prepared.
Finland comes into the match after their last friendly a couple weeks ago against the Czech Republic and that was a draw and before that the team played against Hungary and won 2-1 in that game. Before that the team drew with Oman and had a draw with Wales and the team could not get things going in another friendly against Mexico and that was a big match for El Tri. The Mexican team made it into the World Cup after the US won in dramatic fashion over Honduras and that set up a playoff with New Zealand that the team ended up winning.
Finland played against France before that in World Cup qualifying and they lost that match and the team won against Georgia and lost to defending champions Spain and now they are out of the major tournament. Teemu Pukki leads the team in scoring and he will be an option on Wednesday. Lithuania played against Kazakhstan in their last friendly and they will have one against Poland coming up at the National Stadium next month a week before the World Cup starts.
The team lost in group to Bosnia-Herzegovina and they are into the tournament and they have one of the tougher groups in Brazil. The team is in Group F with Argentina and Lionel Messi, while Iran and Nigeria are also in the group and the first match of the tournament has Brazil taking on Croatia on June 12. The World Cup is coming and it's the biggest tournament in the World and the Spanish team comes in as defending champions and there are a number of teams that could challenge them this year.
