The College World Series is live from Omaha with the Texas Longhorns and Vanderbilt Commodores going at it in a possible limination game for the chance to move on in the CWS and the NCAA baseball tournament game comes from TD Ameritrade Park and starts up at 3 pm ET with ESPN2 coverage on TV and a live stream from the WatchESPN website and comes after the amazing game between Virginia and TCU earlier in the week.
The UC Irvine Anteaters could not win against Vandy and now they have to play to stay in and they have made a great run into the tournament, as they were one of the last teams to get in. The elimination game is now on Wednesday and Walker Buehler pitched Vandy into the game and now UC Irvine has to find a way to beat one of the historically most successful teams in the CWS. Texas won over Louisville to advance and now the Cardinals continued their losing streak of two seasons in the CWS and they can't buy a win in Omaha.
Mississippi and TCU will be playing on Thursday night and that game is also an elimination game for the Rebels and the Frogs, as they are both 1-1 and that is a crucial matchup in the College World Series heading into the final stretch of things. The game between Virginia and TCU was one of the best in College World Series history and it lasted 15 innings and now TCU is playing against Ole Miss in an elimination game after that result and it ended in a walk off for the Cavaliers who have been able to hold tight and it matched the longest in CWS history.
UC Irvine comes into the set after taking down Oklahoma State in the super-regionals and they won that with two wins, while Texas did the same with Houston. Louisville came in after winning over Kennesaw State and they ended up getting eliminated by the Longhorns, while Vandy and Stanford played with the Commodores advancing. Now things are moving towards the championship series and Texas and UC Irvine are playing for the chance to matchup with Vandy, who won their game to move on against UC and now the pressure is on these two teams.
Virginia and TCU played an amazing game and now the Horned Frogs have the chance to play against Mississippi and those teams are waiting to see who will play Virginia after their game. Things are getting close to the tournament finals and the three game championship series comes after double elimination in bracket play and this tourney has been very exciting. Longhorns pitcher Parker French did his best to help get his team through and now they are playing against UC Irvine in a huge game after eliminating Louisville from the tournament.
