Colombia and Japan are playing live on the World Cup schedule in Group E on Tuesday and the matchup in Brazil starts up at 4 pm ET on ESPN and has a live stream from the WatchESPN website as COL is already through and they are playing for position in the knockout round as the game is live from Arena Pantanal in Cuiaba as Ivory coast and Greece also duke it out.
Colombia is already into the round of 16 from this group and they have played very well and they could lock up the top spot in the group to get a better matchup in the knockout stage. The team has played up to the task and has surprised many and now Japan will try and play to stay alive and they need a win and more help from the other match of Greece and Ivory Coast to get into the knockout stages.
Colombia has endeared themselves to the fans of the tournament, as they have their synchronized dancing and flair for the dramatic and now they have the chance to keep things going here and into the group stages. Uruguay in the Group D game advanced but not without controversy, as Luis Suarez was seen biting another player again and while it wasn't called in the game, he could face discipline later on. Suarez is one of the best players in the world and he showed that this year in England, but now he could be losing all that goodwill he gained back.
Suarez has two other biting incidents in his past, including when he was at Ajax and also when he played against Chelsea last year and now he could be out for the rest of the World Cup if FIFA takes action. Italy will be pissed no matter what happens and now Uruguay is through and Italy and England are eliminated from Group D
The Ivory Coast is looking to make it in as well and they have an advantage with three points and they are up over Japan and Greece in the table standings for the group. The team has the Toure brothers and they will need those players to step up and they have three goals this World Cup and three allowed, while Colombia is already in and they look like they will win the group unless the result in the other game is insane. Colombia is already in and they look like a team that can make some noise and they could be trouble come the knockout stages.
The United States has a chance to advance and they play Germany on Thursday and that will be a huge matchup, as a draw gets both teams through. The US was close to doing it by itself after getting to 2-1 against Portugal, but Cristiano Ronaldo had something to say about that and now the team needs a result here to get through. Rodriguez along with Fredy Guarin knows what's at stake and the team wants to win their group, as that would give them a better matchup heading into the knockouts.
