Barcelona star Xavi Hernandez looks like he will be staying put for the time being after furious transfer rumors about his move to New York City FC in the MLS, as Pro Soccer Talk reports that Xavi has decided to stay put with Barca until at least January and that will still be before the Major League Soccer season starts.
According to Pro Soccer Talk, Hernandez has decided to stay with Barcelona for now and will re-evaluate things in January, which would be months before the MLS season anyway. Xavi comes in with two years left on his deal with Barca and the 34 year old was still a bit torn about leaving and one it appears he will stay. The deal looked like it was getting close to being done, but it took quite a while and now it looks like it won't be happening.
NYCFC opens up in 2015 anyway, so it's not like Hernandez will be missing anything. The team has signed David Villa and Frank Lampard and now they could try and get Xavi come January.
