The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox are playing live on the MLB schedule on Sunday night baseball on ESPN and the game is live from WatchESPN at Fenway Park at 8 pm ET and has David Phelps against Clay Buchholz and NY is looking to stay in the AL East and wild card race this year in the American League for the second playoff spot.
The Yankees really need a win and it comes after the Orioles won to keep things going in the division and Buchholz will be on the mound to oppose them. Brett Gardner has been playing like a mad man and he is scratching out the idea that he is the most gifted player on this team after Robinson Cano left and now the Yankees are trying to bounce back into the playoff race.
The team was a buyer at the trading deadline and they added Martin Prado and Stephen Drew at the deadline and that gave the team some massive upgrades even if they are not big names. The Yankees needed some depth in the lineup and also needed some better options in the field and now they have that and while the pitching has been up and down while dealing with injuries, they have been able to stay in it.
