The Montreal Alouettes and Winnipeg Blue Bombers are playing live on the CFL schedule on Friday night and the game is live past 8:30 pm ET at Investors Group Field in Manitoba as the Canadian Football League week gets going and these teams are going in opposite directions, as Drew Willy has his team winning and the Alouettes have just one win this season and the matchup is streaming live from WatchESPN on ESPN.com.
The two teams have played already this season and that was a wild game that saw Winnipeg come into Montreal and steal a game, winning by just one point. The teams now play again and this one will be in Winnipeg and comes as Montreal is in a tailspin, having lost five straight games. The team is in last place in their division with Ottawa and they have the least amount of points scored by anyone this season and they are just 1-6 overall and they have not won on the road either.
The Alouettes come in struggling and Drew Willy will be a tough quarterback to play against for Montreal and they have now lost six of seven games on the season. The team has the chance to pull the upset on the road against the Blue Bombers, who have been one of the best offensive teams in the league. Alex Brink matches up with Willy after Troy Smith went down and the team is ranked last in the league in passing yards per game.
Willy has his team playing well and they have been the best offense in the CFL, scoring the most points of anyone so far and giving up a few as well. The team comes in having lost two straight and they were 5-1 before that and now they are hoping to get a win. The team has 10 point and is tied with the bottom three teams in the division, including BC and Saskatchewan and now they are looking to move ahead.
The Calgary Stampeders are in first place in the west division and the west has been much better than the east this year. The team is tied with Edmonton at the top and both of those teams have 12 points and 6-1 records and are also on two game winning streaks. Saskatchewan has now won four in a row after a rough start and this is a chance to keep that going this weekend and they are there with Winnipeg. The east has been tough and Toronto is leading with just six points, while everyone else in the division with Hamilton, Ottawa and Montreal have one win apiece.
