Chicago Bulls Trade Rumors: JJ Barea, Kevin Martin, Derrick Williams As Michael Beasley Free Agent Target With Taj Gibson Not Traded?

The Chicago Bulls are still looking to add players this offseason and the team has some free agent options like Michael Beasley or Chris Singleton and the team also may consider a trade for JJ Barea, Kevin Martin, Derrick Williams or Jason Thompson and this comes after the team previously considered trading Taj Gibson and Doug McDermott in the Kevin Love deal.

Last season the Bulls were the top defensive team in the league, but they were ranked 30th in scoring in points per game and that is why they went so hard after Carmelo Anthony. According to ESPN.com, the team may consider Michael Beasley or trades if Rose or someone else goes down with an injury, as they need offensive players to step up this year. The team added Pau Gasol and also signed Nikola Mirotic after trading for Doug McDermott and those players should make a big impact for the team.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been trying to get rid of JJ Barea and Kevin Martin and they could be options for the Bulls at some point, while the Kings have done the same with Derrick Williams. The Bulls may not be interested in trading yet, but those options could remain heading into the season. Either way, the Bulls season likely will be decided by how healthy Derrick Rose is and right now he has made it through the summer playing for Team USA without any issues.

Earlier in the offseason the team looked at the Kevin Love trade and they proposed a deal with Mirotic, McDermott as well as Taj Gibson, but the Cavs won out that deal. The team will want to keep Gibson along with Gasol to give them a great front court and later this season they could look at deals to help more after Carlos Boozer was amnestied. Boozer had to get cut loose, as he was making way too much money and now Gasol is in and he is an upgrade on offense and defense for the team.

The Bulls also added Aaron Brooks and he should be an upgrade as a backup for Derrick Rose after using DJ Augustin last season. The Bulls are hoping that the backup for Rose doesn't need to be a starter like last year, but they at least now have an upgrade at that position with Brooks, who is a smart veteran that can play defense as well. Last season Brooks averaged nearly 10 points with three assists while coming off the bench for Denver and Houston and he could be a very important reserve for the Bulls this season.

The Bulls have a deep roster with Tony Snell, McDermott, Jimmy Butler and many other names along with players like Rose and Joakim Noah and they should be a tough team in the east. The Cavs are the favorites, but the Bulls should be right there with the team and that will make the eastern conference very interesting this season. The central division has three of the top teams in the last and that should make things very interesting this season.
