Everton and Chelsea are playing live on the English Premier League schedule on Saturday and the match is live from Goodison Park and the game will be on the NBC Sports Network on TV and on the NBCSN Live Extra website as Jose Mourinho's side tries to stay near the top of the EPL table as the season moves along and they have the chance to stay undefeated so far this year.
Chelsea and Everton will play again at Stamford Bridge in February and this match now gives the Blues the chance to remain at the top of the EPL table along with a group of teams and the Blues have played well to start the season. The Toffees come into the game looking for a win and they have not won a game yet this season in two tries, but they have had at least some positive results, getting draws with Arsenal and Leicester City to get two points to start and now they have Chelsea on the schedule coming in to Goodison.
Chelsea has won just one of their last six trips to the stadium and now they have the chance to end that streak and get things going at the top of the table and this could be a tight game. The two teams have played one goal matchups over the past two years and now the Blues are hoping they can start off well and keep up their great opening to the season alongside Tottenham and Man City, while Swansea has also been off to a nice start. Romelu Lukaku is a player to watch and his move this summer was a big deal and now he has the chance to face off against his old team and he will be the one that Chelsea focuses on up front. He scored 15 goals while on loan to Everton last year and now he has the chance to get it done again.
Didier Drogba is going to have to step up if Diego Costa is out and he should be there and he has been a big part of the start of the season. Chelsea has five goals scored and one against and they are in first with six points, while Arsenal and Hull City are on the second level. Everton striker Samuel Eto'o has the chance to play against his former team and that is another interesting wrinkle in all of this game. Chelsea was able to win over Burnley and Leicester for easy victories early on and now they have a tough test and Everton has won four of the last five at home in the EPL against Chelsea.
If Chelsea loses, it would play out what happened last year, as Everton gave the Blues their first loss of the season after they opened on a nice stretch and that was another one goal game. But Everton has won just two of their last seven matches in the EPL overall and Chelsea now has the chance to come in and show what they can do. Only one top six team won at Goodison Park last season and Chelsea would knock that out quickly and the team feels it's ready to contend after fading out down the stretch, although they did end up in the Champions League as a top four EPL team.
